Shaheen Shah Afridi to Make His Exciting BPL Debut with Fortune Barishal
Pakistan's pace sensation, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is all set to make his much-awaited debut in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The star fast bowler has been roped in by the reigning champions, Fortune Barishal, for the 11th edition of the tournament, starting on December 30.
This season’s BPL will kick off with an exciting clash between Fortune Barishal and newcomers Durbar Rajshahi at the iconic Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The franchise made the announcement with great enthusiasm, stating that Afridi, the 24-year-old left-arm pacer, will play for them in the opening phase of the tournament.
Afridi’s participation has been confirmed as a direct signing by the franchise, and the Pakistan Cricket Board has granted him a no-objection certificate to feature in the competition until January 15. He is set to play the first five matches of the season, adding immense firepower to Fortune Barishal’s bowling attack.
Along with Afridi, the reigning champions have secured several other key signings for the season, including Kyle Mayers, Dawid Malan, Mohammad Nabi, Faheem Ashraf, Ali Mohammad, and Jahandad Khan. The team has also bolstered their squad by picking players like James Fuller, Pathum Nissanka, and Nandre Burger from the draft.
