Southee to Lead Sharjah Warriorz in ILT20 2025
Sharjah Warriorz have announced the exciting addition of Tim Southee to their squad for the upcoming edition of the ILT20. The seasoned New Zealand pacer, who boasts an impressive record in four ODI World Cups and six T20 World Cups, will take on the captaincy role in his debut season with the franchise.
"I'm thrilled to lead the Sharjah Warriorz, a team with a fantastic blend of hard-hitting batters and skillful bowlers," said Southee. "The team management and I have had great discussions, and we are all confident about having a strong season. I'm excited to be a part of such a talented group and can't wait to get started."
The third edition of the highly anticipated six-team league kicks off on January 11, with the Warriorz facing off against Gujarat Giants on January 12. Defending champions MI Emirates, a subsidiary of Mumbai Indians, will be looking to retain their title.
